Research Fellow, Level B (2022) / Australian National University: Research Fellow for ARC project The Cartography of Peace: Security Zones, Colour Codes and Everyday Life

Research Fellow (2020-21)/Griffith University: Research for pandemic borders project. Main organizer of international virtual symposium “Pandemic Borders: Hotels, Spaces of Detention and Quarantine.” Responsibilities included writing call for papers, corresponding with presenters, setting up and administering online event. Main editor of special section on “Border Hotels” submitted to Environment and Planning C: Politics and Space.

Research Assistant (2021)/Swinburne University: Assisting in the organization of two APSA funded intensive workshops on “The Worldmaking Power of Borders” to be held in 2021. To be involved in the coordination of two special issues. 

Research Officer (2021) / Monash University, Australia: Research for AUTOWORK project. Responsibilities have included scoping study, literature review and collaboration with colleagues in Norway.

Research Officer (2019-2020) / Monash University, Australia: Research for Monash Gender, Peace and Security Centre including interview coding for a project on peacebuilding in Aceh, archival research on the conceptualization of women’s participation in the UN agenda on women, peace and security and editing duties for a book on political leadership.

Research Officer (2017) / Monash University, Australia: Collaborated in the development of online content for the Master of International Relations; Worked developing flipped classroom activities; Assisted in developing Frequently Asked Questions for the Master of International Relations.

Master of International Relations Pedagogical Research Project (2018-2019)/ Monash University, Australia: Responsible for research design, conducting surveys and interviews on pedagogy.

Visiting Researcher (2012) / University of Copenhagen, Denmark: Spent three months as a visiting researcher.

Academic Service:

Convenor/Political Geography Study Group – Institute of Australian Geographers (2021): Convenor of the Political Geography Study Group of IAG created in 2021. Responsible for blog and social media management. Organiser of reading group.

Convener and Organizer of Seminar Series/Australian Critical Border Studies Network (2020): Creator and Convener of the Australian Critical Border Studies Network. Organizer of seminar series and responsible for blog and twitter management.  Organizer of network research projects (see research appointments).

Conference Panel Organisation: Organised panels at the Oceanic Conference of International Studies 2020, the Institute of Australian Geographers & New Zealand Geographical Society Combined Conference 2021 and Millennium: Journal of International Studies Annual Conference 2021. Organiser of accepted panel at International Studies Association Annual Convention 2022.

Member of Editorial Committee (2010-2016)/ Relaciones Internacionales: Member of the editorial committee of the Spanish Journal Relaciones Internacionales; Coordinated the publication of three special issues; Member of the translation committee of the journal involved in liaising with authors and publishers to secure rights for translations; Organized translators and revisions of translations; Was involved in the revision of numerous translations published in the journal.

Member of Grupo de Estudios de Relaciones Internacionales (2010-2016)/ Universidad Autónoma de Madrid: Member of the International Relations Study Group at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid; Involved in organizing and participating in monthly seminars.

Organizer (2015)/ Borders, Migration and Sovereignty Masterclass, Monash University-Warwick University Joint Workshop : Organized and chaired a Masterclass run for PhD Students; organized the schedule and the participation of academics from both Monash and Warwick Universities.

External Examination: Honours thesis examiner for the University of Puerto Rico in 2021.
